T20 World Cup 2026 Prize Money: In the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, India performed brilliantly and created history by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs. Under the leadership of captain Suryakumar Yadav, Team India won the T20 World Cup title for the third time. The special thing was that India won this trophy for the second consecutive time and became world champion for the first time in its own home.
With this big victory, Team India not only got the trophy but also got huge prize money. The International Cricket Council (ICC) had set a record prize pool of a total of 13.5 million dollars i.e. about Rs 120 crore for this tournament, which is about 20 percent more than the previous edition.
India received prize money worth crores
After winning the T20 World Cup 2026, the Indian team received prize money of 3 million dollars i.e. about Rs 27.5 crore. This amount will first be given to the Indian Cricket Board and later distributed among the players in the form of bonus, match fees and other rewards.
New Zealand also got a big prize
Despite losing in the final, New Zealand also got a good amount of prize money. As the runner-up team, New Zealand was given 1.6 million dollars i.e. about Rs 14.7 crore.
Earnings of the teams that reached the semi-finals
England and South Africa, which reached the semi-finals in this tournament, also got huge money. Both the teams were given prize money of 7.9 lakh dollars i.e. about Rs 7.24 crore.
Reward for the teams reaching Super-8
The teams that reached the Super-8 stage of the tournament also got good rewards. Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and West Indies were given 3.8 lakh dollars i.e. about Rs 3.48 crore.
Amount also given to the teams eliminated from the group stage
This time, to encourage all the 20 teams, ICC also gave rewards to the teams that were out of the group stage. Afghanistan, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, UAE and America received 2.5 lakh dollars i.e. about Rs 2.3 crore.
Sanju Samson becomes player of the tournament
Indian batsman Sanju Samson, who performed brilliantly throughout the tournament, was chosen Player of the Tournament. He played an important role in the victory of Team India by playing a brilliant inning of 89 runs in 46 balls in the final.
