Anurag Kashyap belongs to a Kayastha family. He was born on 10 September 1972 in Gorakhpur city of UP. His father’s name was Prakash Singh and he was working as Chief Engineer in UP Power Corporation Limited. Film maker Anurag had talked about removing “Singh” by his name at the Jaipur Literature Festival in the year 2018, but he did not say anything clear about his caste.

Case filed against Anurag Kashyap in many places
A police complaint has also been lodged against Anurag Kashyap’s indecent remarks on the Brahmin community. Advocate Ashish Rai had filed a complaint against Anurag in Mumbai and then on April 19, Anoop Shukla lodged a complaint against the film maker in Indore. Now the people of Brahmin society in Jaipur have lodged an FIR in the police against Kashyap.
