Speaking on Revsportz, Ashwin said, ‘There is no match for the quality of batsmen we have in white ball cricket. Team India will win many white ball trophies in the next 10 years, and it will be because of our batting.
However, he expressed concern over Jasprit Bumrah. He said, ‘Jasprit Bumrah’s role is important in this white ball team, what will happen after him?’ Ashwin believes that undoubtedly bowlers make the team win matches, but the youth may have less attraction to become bowlers in the future.
Ashwin said, ‘I am worried that bowling is no longer as attractive as batting, which is why children may not take up this game. By sports I mean batting and bowling, different sports. Bowling as a sport is not attractive, it feels like you are being entertained. Giving him a chance to hit sixes and fours.
