Just before IPL 2026, good news has come for Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH team’s regular captain Pat Cummins is scheduled to reach Bengaluru on Tuesday, March 24. There was concern in the Hyderabad camp regarding Cummins’ injury, due to which Ishan Kishan was appointed the interim captain of the team. Sunrisers Hyderabad has to play its first match with Royal Challengers Bangalore on 28 March.

Pat Cummins may join the Sunrisers Hyderabad team on Tuesday, but Ishan Kishan will represent the SRH team in the ‘Captains Meet’ to be held on Wednesday. On March 25, the captains of all the 10 teams will come together in Mumbai and their photoshoot will also take place. Ishan Kishan may attend the captains’ meeting, but it is not clear yet whether Kishan will remain the captain in the matches or not.

Good news for SRH

Two good news have come together for Sunrisers Hyderabad. On one hand, the team’s regular captain Pat Cummins is going to join the team soon. Whereas Sri Lankan fast bowler Ishan Malinga has got approval to play in IPL 2026. Malinga will reach Hyderabad on 24 March. Recall that he was retained by SRH for Rs 1.20 crore. Apart from them, Dushmantha Chameera, Dasun Shanaka and Pathum Nissanka have also been approved by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.

On March 28, Sunrisers Hyderabad will play its first match with Royal Challengers Bangalore. His second match will be with Kolkata Knight Riders on 2 April. The third match of Hyderabad team will be with Lucknow Super Giants on 5th April and the fourth match will be with Punjab Kings on 11th April. BCCI has so far released the schedule of only 20 matches of the tournament.
