The 19th edition of the Indian Premier League is going to start from March 28, for which a few days are left. Earlier, a worrying news has come for Mumbai Indians. The fitness status of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is not clear yet. The first match of MI under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya is against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede on 29 March.
Jasprit Bumrah is a dangerous bowler, who can change the course of the match on his own. There is mental pressure on good batsmen against them. In such a situation, if he is injured then it is not good news for Mumbai Indians, who have never reached the final since 2021.
Bumrah has not reached MI camp yet
Mumbai Indians have started practice for IPL 2026. But according to reports, Jasprit Bumrah is currently in BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Karnataka. If reports are to be believed, he has not yet joined the training camp. However, it is not clear whether Bumrah is suffering from any injury or is just there for routine checkup.
Hardik Pandya is the captain of Mumbai Indians from 2024. In 2024, the team was at the bottom in the points table. Last year the team reached the playoffs, but once again could not reach the finals. MI will play in the tournament for its sixth title.
Jasprit Bumrah has been playing for Mumbai Indians franchise since 2013. During this period, he has taken 183 wickets in 145 matches, in which he has taken five wicket hauls twice.
