Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins is currently recovering from injury, due to which he will not be able to play the initial matches of IPL 2026. Now Cummins himself gave a big update on his fitness and indicated that he will soon return to competitive cricket. IPL season 19 is starting from 28th March. RCB and SRH will face each other in the first match. Ishan Kishan will captain in the absence of Cummins.
Pat Cummins suffered a back injury in the middle of last year. Since then he has been able to play only one international match. For this reason he could not play in the T20 World Cup. In this tournament, Australia team was out of the group stage itself. The ICC website quoted Cummins as saying that he has started bowling in the nets. He is confident that he is ready to return to the cricket field soon.

Cummins said, “I am still recovering from a back injury, but now I am feeling better than before. Have also started bowling in the nets.” He is confident that he will be fit to play in the second half of the IPL. He further said, “IPL is going to start soon. I will not be able to play in the initial matches, but hopefully it will not take much time for me to return to the field.”
Cummins said, “I have started bowling. Right now I am bowling every third day. We have made a plan by which I will be completely fit by the middle of the tournament. So, if everything goes well and there is no problem, then I will definitely play the second half of the tournament and the final.”
