Phil Salt Catches, IPL 2026 1st Match: Royal Challengers Bangalore’s star batsman Phil Salt stole the show by taking not one but two brilliant catches in the first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026. Believe me, Salt had become a super man to catch the catch of Hyderabad captain Ishan Kishan. Both the catches of Salt were worth watching.
Heinrich Klaasen’s catch was taken first
Romario Shepherd brought the 14th over for RCB in the first innings of the match. On the very first ball of Shepherd, Klaasen hit a shot towards mid-wicket. Seeing Klaasen’s shot, it seemed for a moment that it would become a six, but Salt did an amazing job by catching the ball going outside the boundary line and completed the catch and sent Klaasen to the pavilion.
Picking up where he left off… 🔥🔥

However, Salt’s catch also came under question. The third umpire checked the catch, but the decision came in his favor. Ultimately the umpire declared the catch clean and declared Klaasen out. Klaas played an innings of 31 runs in 22 balls. He was the third batsman to score the most runs in the innings for the team.
Ishan Kishan became a super man to catch, caught with one hand
After this, Salt transformed himself into a super man to catch Ishan Kishan on the last ball of the 16th over. Ishaan tried to play a shot towards point on Abhinandan’s ball. Seeing the ball in the air, Salt ran and took a catch with one hand, which became a contender for ‘Catch of the Tournament’.

Ishaan played a brilliant inning for the team and scored 80 runs in 38 balls with the help of 8 fours and 5 sixes, with which he was the highest run scorer. Due to Ishaan’s innings, the team put a total of more than 200 runs on the board.
