A big controversy of ‘ball tampering’ has come to light in the Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 2026) being played these days. In this controversy, only the name of Pakistani batsman Fakhar Zaman, who is playing for Lahore Qalandars in the tournament, came up. Now the names of Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf have also come up in this controversy.
Let us tell you that the ‘ball tampering’ controversy took place in the sixth match of the tournament, which was played between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings on 29 March. A video surfaced from the match, in which Fakhar Zaman was seen tampering with the ball. This incident happened before the last over of the match, when Karachi, which was batting, needed 14 runs to win.
Before the over, Fakhar takes the ball and gives it to Haris. During this time the umpire suspects that the ball has been tampered with. The umpire asks for the ball and imposes a penalty of 5 runs on Lahore Qalandars. Now 9 runs were left in the last over for Karachi to win. The team scored this run in just 3 balls.

Kamran Akmal declared all three guilty
Speaking on a Pakistani TV, former Pakistani player Basit Ali said that Fakhar’s game is over, as is visible in the evidence. I think they will be fined heavily.
Basit Ali said, “It’s over for Fakhar Zaman. Since the evidence has come out, I’m sure that he’ll be fined a huge amount.”
Kamran Akmal said, “Not only Fakhar Zaman, captain Shaheen and Haris Rauf are also responsible for this Ball Tampering. They can face a Ban as well.” pic.twitter.com/TYWAEEdj97
