On the 34th day of the ongoing war with Iran, US President Donald Trump addressed the nation and informed the whole world about the situation related to the war. In this almost 20-minute long address, US President Trump tried to assure the American people that America has won the war with Iran and Iran has been destroyed in this war, but the reality seems to be exactly the opposite. Because in his speech, Trump has told at least 10 such big lies to the American people and the whole world, which are enough to prove that Trump is now frustrated with this war and he wants to end this war at any cost.
Which lies did Trump tell in his address?
- Lie number 1: Iran’s army is ruined
While addressing the nation, US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran’s navy has been destroyed and its air force has been destroyed. The capability to launch missiles and drones has been drastically reduced and their weapons factories and rocket launchers are being dismantled into pieces. Never before in the history of war has an enemy suffered such huge losses in just a few weeks.
Whereas the reality is that Iran is still fighting and fighting even more strongly than before. When Trump was claiming that Iran’s missiles and drones had been destroyed, within a few hours of that claim, Iran attacked Israel. On the basis of the Iranian Navy which Trump is talking about destroying, Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz and Trump is not even in a position to open it. Therefore, he has said that America has nothing to do with Hormuz and whoever wants oil should either get Hormuz opened or buy oil from America. It simply means that Trump’s claim is false.
- Lie number 2: Change of power in Iran
In his speech, Trump has claimed that there has been a change of power in Iran and the new leadership is less radical than the old one, but the reality of Iran is that there has been a change of power there, but not as Trump wanted. After the death of Ayatollah Khamenei, the leadership of Iran is in the hands of his son Mujtaba Khamenei, who is considered more fundamentalist than his father. Ayatollah Khamenei had become the President of Iran and later the Supreme Leader, while Mujtaba had been the commander of Iran’s most elite force IRGC.
More drones and missiles have been fired during Mujtaba’s tenure than Ayatollah Khamenei would have ordered to fire in his entire life. Even now it has been made clear from Iran’s side that Iran is not going to make any compromise, it is not going to stop anywhere and its attacks will continue until Iran’s enemies America and Israel kneel down.
- Lie number 3: Iran’s nuclear capability is exhausted
Trump has claimed in his speech that Iran’s nuclear capability has been destroyed. However, the truth is that when Trump conducted Operation Midnight Hammer in June 2025, his objective was to destroy Iran’s nuclear capability. Even when that operation ended, Trump said that Iran’s nuclear capability was destroyed because Natanz and Isfahan were attacked with B-2 stealth bombers.
Eight months later, Trump is repeating the same thing again. They are saying that we have destroyed the nuclear sites and Iran can no longer reach the nuclear dust. Whereas earlier he had said that he would acquire Iran’s enriched uranium, but Trump has not yet got that uranium, so his nuclear claim is also false because Trump has no proof of it.
- Lie No. 4: Will continue to help our Middle East allies
In his speech, Trump thanked the Middle East ally countries Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain and said that we will not let them get hurt in any way. But the reality is that Iran is hurting these friends of America the most. It is these people who are being attacked the most. These are the countries which need the Hormuz route to sell their oil and gas, but Iran has blocked that route and Trump has said that he will not go to open Hormuz. If Hormuz is not opened, the countries of the Middle East will not be able to sell oil and gas and the world will not be able to buy it, so the loss is only for Trump’s friends, which Trump is not accepting.
- Lie number 5: Will send Iran to the Stone Age
Trump is saying that all the military goals of America will be accomplished soon and in the next two to three weeks we will take them back to the Stone Age, where they deserve. However, the reality is that America is not attacking Iran right now. The only way to send Iran into the Stone Age is through massive bombings and nuclear attacks, which America cannot do. There is a danger of civilians also being killed in such an attack and Trump will never be able to take this risk because Trump has been on the backfoot since the death of children in an attack on a school.
At the same time, another way is to send army to Iran, but Trump has made it clear that the army will not enter Iran. Even allies like Israel have refused to put boots on the ground in Iran, while Trump’s claim of sending Iran to the Stone Age is also meaningless.
- Lie number 6: Talks are ongoing with Iran
Trump is repeatedly saying that talks are going on with Iran, there has been a change of power there and the new leadership is wise. Whereas the truth is that Iran is repeatedly denying this claim of Trump. From Iran’s side, be it Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi or its military spokesperson, they have made it clear that there will be no talks and the talks Trump is claiming, it seems that he is talking to himself.
Iran is saying that Trump’s words are false and should not be paid attention to. Trump himself is talking about talks, but is not telling who he is actually talking to in Iran. Therefore this claim is also doubtful.
- Lie No. 7: Attack on electricity and oil facilities
Trump is saying that if there is no agreement, we will attack their power plants. We have not yet attacked their oil fields, even though that is the easiest target. Whereas the reality is completely opposite to Trump’s claim.
Trump can attack Iran’s power plants, but attacking the oil fields could prove suicidal. Iran’s largest oil field is Kharg Island. Kharg is so secure that it is almost impossible to attack it. It can neither be attacked from the ground nor from the sky. Attack from the sea is also almost impossible, but if we assume that America attacks Kharg with full force, then the oil present on that island will catch fire and the heat generated by that fire will scorch all the economies around the world.
The entire global oil market will collapse, oil prices across the world will skyrocket within a few hours and the global recession it will bring will be almost impossible to recover from. Because there are approximately 20 million barrels of oil on the shelf at any one time. That means approximately 20 million barrels of oil and burning one barrel of oil releases approximately 6.1 gigajoules of energy. If we talk about the total energy released by burning oil, it will be approximately 29 megatons of TNT.
Let us tell you that in 1945, when America carried out a nuclear attack on Nagasaki, Japan, its capacity was only 15 kilotons. When a 15 kiloton bomb caused so much devastation that its scars can be seen even after 81 years, then you cannot even imagine what would be the consequences if the oil storage at Kharg caught fire.
- Lie number 8: There is no inflation in America
Trump claims that he has created the strongest economy in history and now there is no inflation in America. There is definitely truth in this claim of Trump, but ever since the war started, there has been an earthquake in America’s stock market. When Trump talks about ending the war, the market rises, then if Iran refuses, the market falls.
Due to rust, oil prices are near all-time high. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has affected the supply chain and no matter how many claims Trump makes, if it is not opened then America will also face problems, because America has as much oil and gas as it has for its own use. It is able to sell very little oil and gas to the world. If Hormuz is not opened then pressure on America will increase, due to which oil prices will increase further and these prices will increase in America too.
- Lie number 9: We will end the war in two-three weeks
Trump also claims that he will end the war in two-three weeks, but this claim is also completely false, because at the beginning of this war, Trump had talked about ending the war in two-three days. Now even after a month has passed, they are talking about the war continuing for 20-25 more days, so how can we believe it?
American stock market continues falling after Trump’s speech
In his speech, Trump has talked about the destruction of Iran, but he could not say even once how much loss America has suffered in this war. How much damage has the American Air Force suffered and how many American fighter planes have been destroyed in this war.
Overall, Trump has not said anything new in his speech. So many lies have been told in twisted things that now no one understands what is the way to end the war and its result is clearly visible on the stock market, which is continuously falling after Trump’s statement.
