The ongoing conflict between America and Iran in the Middle East is likely to intensify once again. In fact, it is being said that America has decided to deploy a large number of long-range missiles from its global weapons stockpile in a possible military action against Iran.
According to Bloomberg report, the US Army is preparing to deploy about 82 percent of its JASSM-ER (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile-Extended Range) long range missile inventory in this campaign. After this, only about 425 missiles will be left for other parts of the world.
President Trump threatened Iran
This development has come to light after US President Donald Trump gave a strict threat to Iran on Wednesday (April 1, 2026), in which he said that either Iran should accept his proposed peace agreement, otherwise it will have to face serious military action.
President Trump issued another statement on Saturday (April 4, 2026) saying that Iran now has only 48 hours. If an agreement is not reached within this time limit, the situation may become even more serious. He shared a post on the Truth social platform and said, ‘Remember that I had given Iran 10 days to reach a compromise or open Hormuz. Time is running out, now 48 hours are left, otherwise everything will be destroyed.
How deadly is America’s JASSM-ER missile?
JASSM missiles are included in both long range and shorter range variants of America. In this, JASSM-ER missile is one of the state-of-the-art cruise missiles, which was developed by Lockheed Martin in the year 2001 and it is being supplied to the US Army for the last two decades. This American missile has been specially designed for long-range precision air-to-ground attack, due to which even the enemy’s strong air defense system can be easily overcome.
The biggest feature of this missile is its long range. It can hit targets accurately at a distance of more than 500 nautical miles (about 930 kilometers). It can be launched from US Air Force fighter planes like F-15E, F-16 as well as bomber planes like B-1B, B-2 and B-52. It has a powerful warhead of 1000 pounds, which is capable of easily destroying bunkers, military bases and strategic targets of the enemy.
