Passing the Civil Services Examination, which is counted among the toughest examinations in the country, is not considered easy. Many candidates prepare for years, take coaching, make notes and still success remains far away. But a daughter from Prayagraj changed this perception. In a short time, without coaching and by studying diligently, Ananya Singh achieved what people consider to be the result of years of hard work.
Topped in 10th-12th
Ananya’s dream was to become an IAS officer since childhood. She remained sharp in studies from the beginning. Her early education was from St. Mary’s Convent School, Prayagraj. He scored 96 percent marks in the 10th board exam. In class 12th, he had the honor of becoming the district topper by scoring 98.25 percent marks. She was the district topper from CISCE board in both the classes.

After school, Ananya moved to Delhi and completed her graduation in Economics Honors from Shri Ram College of Commerce. In the last year of college, he decided to start preparing for UPSC. He did not take help of any coaching. Collected books on my own, understood the syllabus and started making notes.

How many hours did you study?
Ananya used to study for 7 to 8 hours every day. When the base became strong, he made a rule of studying for 6 hours every day. The special thing was that he prepared for preliminary (Prelims) and main examination (Mains) simultaneously. According to him, making notes became his biggest strength. By reading in writing, the things got stuck in the mind and it also became easy to repeat.

In the year 2019 he gave the Civil Services Examination. When the results came, he himself could not believe it. He achieved All India Rank 51. At the age of just 22, he fulfilled his childhood dream. Today Ananya is fulfilling her responsibilities in administrative service and is posted in West Bengal cadre.
