Peace talks between America and Iran in Islamabad, Pakistan (US Iran War Talk) Today is the second day. Vice President JD Vance is leading the delegation from America’s side. This delegation includes Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner and Brad Cooper. Whereas from Iran’s side the talks are being led by the speaker of the Iranian Parliament, MB Ghalibaf.

Ahead of the trilateral talks at Islamabad’s Serena Hotel, the US team led by Vance and the Iranian delegation led by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf held separate meetings with Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. “The formal round of direct talks between Iran and the US has officially begun, after Pakistan Prime Minister Sharif held separate meetings with both the delegations,” a senior Pakistani official told PTI.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during his meeting with the Iranian delegation, expressed Pakistan’s commitment to continue Pakistan’s role as mediator to achieve positive results in peace talks. During the meeting with the American delegation, Sharif expressed hope that these talks will return lasting peace to West Asia.

The issue of Lebanon was also discussed between America and Iran. Iran wants ceasefire to be implemented in Lebanon also. He has asked America to put pressure on Israel so that it does not attack Lebanon. However, no consensus could be reached on this issue either.

Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Arif said that an agreement is possible if the American side works honestly according to the ‘America First’ policy. He warned that there will be no agreement if ‘Israel First’ thinking continues to dominate. Arif also said that if a peace agreement is not reached, the world will have to pay a ‘big price’.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said after a phone call with Tehran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Reza Shibani that the US should follow its ceasefire commitments, including ensuring that Lebanon will also be included in its scope.
