Russian President Putin has offered mediation with the Iranian President. Putin has made this proposal by calling him. Now, it will be interesting to see whether Iran and America accept Russia’s mediation offer or not.
After the failure of mediation, the danger of resumption of war is looming in many countries of the world. Their concerns have increased. In such a situation, everyone is making offers from their own side regarding mediation.
In an interview with Sky News, UK Health Minister Wes Streetling said that this is obviously disappointing. We have not got any success in talks yet. There has been no end to this war in Iran that is stable and sustainable. He said that now the priority should be that the ceasefire should continue and talks should start again.
Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong has also issued a statement. He has said that it is disappointing that the talks held in Islamabad between America and Iran ended without any agreement.
The talks that lasted 21 hours were inconclusive
Here in Islamabad, talks between America and Iran continued for about 21 hours. It ended without any agreement. No consensus could be reached between the two countries. However, it has been indicated that the talks can be continued further. During the mediation talks between the two countries, a lot of disagreement has been seen on issues like nuclear programme, sanctions and territorial control.
The biggest issue of this conversation was the nuclear programme. America wanted Iran to guarantee complete destruction of its ability to make nuclear weapons and to impose strict restrictions on its uranium enrichment program. Here, Iran refused to accept the sanctions by arguing the rights to protect sovereignty.
