Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Nitish Rane has claimed that ‘corporate jihad’ has emerged in the state and has demanded to give priority to only Hindu candidates in jobs to stop ‘jihadi activities’. His comments came in the context of cases of alleged conversion attempts and sexual harassment in a BPO unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) based in Nashik.
Police have arrested eight TCS employees in this case, including seven men and one woman manager, while another woman employee is said to be absconding. The National Commission for Women has also constituted a fact-finding committee to investigate the alleged sexual harassment.
‘Jobs are being used for religious conversion’- Nitesh Rane
Citing the Nashik TCS case, Rane alleged that jobs were being used as a means of conversion. He said that if every platform from business to corporate offices is being used to target Hindus, then the time has come to give a strong response. Rane claimed that due to such incidents, there is a growing feeling among the Hindu community that economic transactions and employment should be done only with people of their own community.

‘Companies should adopt the policy of giving jobs only to Hindus’
The minister also warned that companies may adopt a policy of employing only Hindus to prevent such ‘jihadi activities’ in future. He said that his aim is not to divide the society, but to respond to ground experiences.
According to Rane, if employment is being used for conversion, then giving preference to Hindu candidates is the need of the hour to strengthen the ‘Hindu Rashtra’. He also said that if employment is being used to spread jihad, then it is time to look at it as a serious issue and not just a means of livelihood.
