The 29th match of IPL 2026 was played on Sunday between Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants in New Chandigarh, by winning which PBKS created history. Punjab is the first team in IPL history, which has not lost even a single match after the first 6 matches. Batting first, Punjab scored a huge score of 254 runs, Priyansh Arya (93) and Cooper Connolly (87) played brilliant innings. While chasing the target, LSG could score only 200 runs. Punjab won the match by 54 runs.

While chasing the big target of 255 runs, Mitchell Marsh and Ayush Badoni gave a good start to Lucknow Super Giants, both of them added 61 runs for the first wicket. Marsh scored 40 runs in 28 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 3 fours, Baroi scored 35 runs in 21 balls. The first wicket fell in the form of Badoni on the last ball of the last over of the powerplay.
After this, there was a partnership of 48 runs between Rishabh Pant and Marsh, after Marsh’s departure, Rishabh Pant also soon returned to the pavilion. Captain Pant scored 43 runs in 23 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 1 four, he was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh. Once again Nicholas Puran disappointed, he could score only 9 runs. Punjab did not have a good start, Prabhsimran Singh was out for zero in the very first over. He was dismissed by Mohammed Shami, but after this there was a historic partnership of 182 runs between Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly. Both the batsmen scored stormy half-centuries, although both missed their century.
Priyansh Arya scored 93 runs in 37 balls. In this innings played at a strike rate of 251, he hit 9 sixes and 4 fours. Cooper Connolly scored 87 runs in 46 balls with the help of 7 sixes and 8 fours.
Although Punjab Kings’ scoring pace slowed down due to back to back wickets falling, in the end short but important innings of Marcus Stoinis and Nehal Wadhera helped Punjab cross 250. Stoinis scored 29 runs in 16 balls and Vadhera scored 13 runs in 7 balls.
The most economical bowler for Lucknow Super Giants was Prince Yadav, who took 2 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs. Avesh Khan proved to be expensive, he gave 46 runs in 3 overs and could not take any wicket. Mohammed Shami gave away 56 runs in 4 overs, he took 1 wicket. Aiden Markram bowled one over, which cost 32 runs. This proved to be the most expensive over of IPL 2026.
