IPL 2026, RR vs KKR: In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won against Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 4 wickets on Sunday. KKR spinner Varun Chakraborty, who took 3 wickets for just 14 runs in 4 overs, was chosen as ‘Player of the Match’. Chakraborty has clearly said that his team has not come just to participate this season.
In the match played at Eden Gardens, Rajasthan Royals scored 155 runs losing 9 wickets. In response, Kolkata Knight Riders won in 19.4 overs. KKR has opened the winning account after 6 matches this season. Earlier, the team had lost 5 matches, while one match remained inconclusive due to rain.

After registering the first win of the season, Chakraborty said, ‘It feels very good. First of all I want to give credit to the entire coaching staff, because the last few weeks have been difficult. The results did not go in our favor and there was a lot of talk outside, but the head coach and the rest of the staff did not let that noise affect us. We stuck to our process, so it’s a win for everyone.
He said, ‘Today’s pitch was a little slow, which suited us. I was injured in the initial matches, I have two fractures in my left hand and still do. I’m just trying to handle it. It’s not easy, but I’m playing.

The ‘Player of the Match’ said, “We don’t know where we will end up, but we want to send the message that we are not here just to participate. We have come here to win every match and make a strong claim for the trophy. We are still hopeful and will do well in the future.”
After the first win of the season, KKR has reached 9th place in the points table. This team will face Lucknow Super Giants in its next match on 26th April.
