Government’s plan?
In fact, the Government of India has removed custom duty on many essential electronic parts to promote electronics manufacturing in the country. Now custom duty will not be imposed on many important parts used in making display modules and wireless charging systems. This will benefit companies making displays for automobiles, medical gadgets and industrial machines as well as companies making smartphones.

Custom duty removed on which parts?
The list of electronic parts on which custom duty has been removed by the government is as follows:

  • Display Sale
  • Backlight Unit
  • Flexible Printed Circuit Assembly (FPCA),
  • NFC coil
  • NdFeB magnets

All these essential components are used in the manufacturing of smartphones, cars, medical devices and other electronic devices. The government has given this relaxation till 31 March 2029. Due to which companies will get time to increase investment and increase production in the country.

what does the government say
Regarding this decision, the government believes that this will reduce the production costs of electronics companies and more and more electronic parts will be able to be manufactured in India. Currently many essential components are imported from abroad. With the removal of custom duty, their cost will reduce and electronic products made in India will become more competitive in the global market.
