The solution to the West Asia crisis has not yet been found. US President Donald Trump has extended the duration of the temporary ceasefire by two weeks. Trump announced on Wednesday (April 22, 2026) that he was extending the ceasefire until Iran presented a proposal. He gave credit for this to Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir. Amidst all this, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir has asked his army to be ready in any situation.
He said that amid the fragile ceasefire in Iran and Lebanon, the army is on high alert and ready to fight on all fronts. “Since the fire of October 7, we have been working to rebuild our military strength through continuous fighting,” he said while addressing 120 outstanding soldiers honored at Israel’s Independence Day ceremony at the President’s House on Wednesday.
He said that in Gaza, the IDF won the battle against Hamas and maintained this command: ‘We spared no one.’ Encouraging the troops, Zamir further said, ‘At this moment, we are fighting a fierce battle in Lebanon to strengthen the security of northern communities.’

Regarding the June 2025 and recent 40-day conflict with Iran, he said, ‘It is the same in the fight against Iran. On the other hand, on the anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, Major General Amir Hatami also issued a message.

He claimed that the IRGC, under the command of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Ayatollah Seyed Mujtaba Khamenei, guarantees the territorial integrity of the Islamic lands under all circumstances.
