Iran US Talks: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian posted on social media platform He said that the blockade of Iranian ports by the US Navy continues and this is the main reason why the talks are not progressing.

Pezeshkian clearly listed three major reasons for the obstacles in the talks – violation of promises made by America, the ongoing blockade of Iranian ports and repeated threats. “The world is now witnessing your endless hypocritical statements and the clear contradiction between your claims and actual action,” he said sharply. He also reiterated that Iran has never been against dialogue and agreement, but in the current situation, positive progress is becoming difficult.

Talks in Pakistan postponed

The talks between Iran and America to be held in Pakistan this week have been postponed for the time being. This decision came at a time when US President Donald Trump announced to extend the ceasefire ending on Wednesday. Trump said that on Pakistan’s request he has given time to Iran to prepare a joint proposal. Pakistan is playing the role of main mediator in this talks.

Tension continues despite ceasefire

Even after the ceasefire was extended, the tension between the two countries has not reduced. Iran has taken possession of three ships MSC Francesca, Epaminondas and Euphoria. At the same time, America has also continued the naval blockade of Iranian ports, due to which the situation has become more complicated.

Trump did not set a deadline on Iran proposal

White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt said on Thursday that President Trump has not set any specific deadline for Iran’s proposal. He said, “There were reports that a deadline of three to five days has been given, but this is not correct. The President has not set any deadline and he will take the final decision as to when and how the further process will happen.”

Blockade became the biggest issue of controversy

The biggest point of dispute between Iran and America is the naval blockade of Iranian ports. Despite extending the ceasefire, Trump has made it clear that the blockade near the Strait of Hormuz will continue. “I have instructed my army to continue the blockade and be prepared for every situation,” he said on social media platform Truth Social.

Talks can proceed on the signal of lifting of blockade

Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir-Saeed Iravani, has indicated that the US may be ready to lift the blockade. He said, “As soon as this blockade is lifted, I think the next round of talks will start in Islamabad.” This statement has come out quoting Iran’s semi-official news agency Tasnim.
