Record voting was recorded in West Bengal amid reports of sporadic violence and stone pelting. Till 5 pm, 89.93 percent people voted in the state. CM Banerjee claimed that bumper voting in the West Bengal Assembly elections is a sign of TMC’s victory.
West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee said that the voting so far in the first phase of assembly elections indicates that Trinamool Congress is already in a winning position.
What did Mamata Banerjee say on bumper voting?
CM Banerjee said that as far as I have been able to understand the minds of the people, looking at the voting done so far, I can say that we are already in a winning position. I am not interested in any position. I don’t want a chair. I only want the end of BJP government in Delhi.
In a rally organized in Bow Bazaar area of Kolkata, Mamata said that after winning the elections, she will take all the opposition parties along and conquer Delhi (central power). Voting is going on for 152 seats under the first phase of West Bengal Assembly elections. The Election Commission has said that till 5 pm, 89.93 percent voting was recorded in the state. Under the second phase, voting will be held on 142 seats on April 29.

Voting took place in many seats of West Bengal
The first phase of elections was not peaceful. Bomb attacks, stone pelting and clashes between political workers were seen in Murshidabad, Nawada and other places. CRPF and political workers had to intervene at many places. These incidents have raised questions on the fairness and security of the elections. Apart from this, the effect of SIR has also been seen in election voting. A large number of people came out here to vote.
