Efforts for the second round of talks (US Iran Talks 2.0) going on in Islamabad, Pakistan between America and Iran have proved unsuccessful. Iran has refused direct talks with America. Iran has given a strong message to America. An Iranian diplomat present in Islamabad has presented the position on behalf of Tehran.
Told news agency Reuters that in principle the Iranian side will not accept maximalist demands. Iran clearly believes that it rejects America’s maximalism. Currently, the Iranian delegation that reached Islamabad has now left for Tehran. This delegation has submitted a list of demands to the leaders of Pakistan regarding the complete end of the war.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reached Islamabad on Saturday with the delegation. According to the White House, Iran is planning to make a proposal to the US. Here, commercial flights have started from Tehran. US negotiators will leave for Islamabad on Saturday. But after Iran’s refusal to talk, whether America will send its negotiators to Islamabad, its stance is not clear at present.
Iran’s Foreign Minister has registered objection to US stance
On Saturday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed his objections regarding Iran’s demands and the US stance. Islamabad is hosting efforts to end the war. Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi met Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif and other high level officials. However, very little information related to this conversation has come to light.
Iran has refused a new round of talks
Earlier, the White House had said that Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner would visit Islamabad on Saturday, but Iran has so far flatly refused a new round of direct talks.
Iran clarified its principled stance
A statement issued on the Telegram account of Iran’s Foreign Minister said that Araghchi has clarified our country’s principled stance regarding the new developments related to the ceasefire and the complete end of the imposed war against Iran. Earlier, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had said that Iran has a chance to make a good deal.
He had said that Iran knows that they still have a chance to choose the right opportunity wisely. All they have to do is stop building nuclear weapons in meaningful and verifiable ways.
