In the match played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Delhi Capitals batted first and scored a historic score of 264 runs. In reply, Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya opened for Punjab. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh together scored 116 runs in the powerplay. By the end of the powerplay, Prabhasimran had scored 71 runs in 23 balls and Priyansh had scored 38 runs in 14 balls. Priyansh and Prabhasimran created such havoc that in the first 6 overs of the innings, four overs were such that Priyansh-Prabhasimran collected 20 overs.
Delhi became the most beaten team
Talking about power play, Delhi Capitals has become the most beaten team of IPL. Because both the biggest scores of power play in IPL have come against Delhi Capitals only. In the 2024 season, Sunrisers Hyderabad had scored 125 runs in the first 6 overs against this team. Now Punjab has also achieved the feat of scoring 116 runs in the powerplay against Delhi.
