More than 18 people fell ill and 1 died after eating Golgappa from a roadside stall in Giridih, Jharkhand. A 6-year-old innocent boy died after eating chaat from a person selling chickpeas secretly while roaming around in the village. The deceased has been identified as 6-year-old Ranjan Kumar. There is an atmosphere of panic in the entire village due to the health of so many people deteriorating simultaneously.

Crying condition of family members is bad.

As soon as information about the incident was received, there was panic in the district administration. All have been admitted to Sadar Hospital for treatment where they are being treated by a team of doctors.

The deceased innocent Ranjan Kumar has been sent for post-mortem. As soon as information about the matter was received, Giridih Deputy Commissioner Ramniwas Yadav also reached the hospital and took stock of the situation, and also ordered a serious investigation into the matter. The family members are in bad condition and crying.

Deputy Commissioner Ramniwas Yadav said that in Bajto village, about 18 children and two elders fell ill after eating Golgappa at a roadside stall. One child has died, while the rest are undergoing treatment in hospitals. Fear has spread in the village, where cases of heat-related diarrhea were already being reported.
