KKR’s equation to reach playoffs
After winning against Delhi, Kolkata has every chance of securing a place in the playoffs. Kolkata has played 10 league matches, winning 4 and losing 5 matches. The remaining one match remained inconclusive due to rain. With this performance the team has 9 points.
Now the team has to play 4 more matches. To make it to the playoffs, the team will have to win all four matches. By winning all the matches the team can reach 17 points. With so many points, the team’s place in the playoffs will be almost confirmed.
One loss, KKR out of playoffs
If Kolkata loses even one match in the remaining four matches, then their exit from the playoffs will also be almost confirmed. Because in this situation the team will have only 15 points, with which it will be very difficult to get a place in the playoffs.
Currently, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals, who are in the top-4, have 14, 13, 12 and 12 points respectively. Rajasthan has to play 3 more matches, while the remaining three top-4 teams have to play 4 more matches each. It is expected that these top-4 teams will achieve 16-16 points. In such a situation, KKR will have to complete 17 points by winning all the matches to reach the playoffs. Now it will be interesting to see whether the team can reach the playoffs or not.
