The Energy Department of Tamil Nadu has issued a government order announcing subsidy on electricity up to 200 units. This subsidy is for those consumers whose consumption is up to 500 units every two months. In this matter the government will bear the expenditure of Rs 1730 crore every year.
Tamil Nadu CM Vijay, while announcing to provide 200 units of electricity every two months to the domestic consumers, has said in the order that this decision will be applicable to those whose consumption in two months is up to 500 units. Consumers whose consumption in two months is more than 500 units. The existing tariff structure will continue for them. This also includes 100 units of free electricity every two months.

Vijay took many important decisions after taking oath
Vijay took oath as Chief Minister on Sunday. He has started his tenure. During this period he has signed many files. Also, we have taken steps towards fulfilling our election promises expeditiously. Taking decisions other than electricity, Vijay has approved the formation of a special force for the safety of women. Apart from this, the proposal to establish an anti-drug unit in every district has also been approved. With this he has fulfilled his promise to deal with the alleged drug problem.
Apart from this, in the important announcement he has made, a white paper will be issued on the financial position of the state for the period 2021-2026.
