Shreyas Iyer Statement: Shreyas Iyer got angry at these players, told because of whom Punjab Kings lost; DC won by 3 wickets

In the 55th match of IPL 2026, Delhi Capitals defeated Punjab Kings by 3 wickets. This is Punjab’s fourth consecutive defeat, after which their chances of reaching the top-4 have reduced from 95 to 60 percent. Talking about the reason for the defeat, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer said that I will not twist things and say that we lost because of fielding and bowling. Iyer believes that we had made a good score, which should have been defended.

What did Shreyas Iyer say

Where did Punjab Kings go wrong? On this question, Iyer said, “I do not want to beat around the bush, the mistake was in bowling and fielding.” Was this a good score to defend? On this he said, “Of course, the way the ball was seaming, sometimes the ball was staying above, sometimes below, we had scored about 30 runs more.”

On not getting Chahal to bowl, Shreyas Iyer said, “We had thought of bowling to him but the way the ball was seaming, if our bowlers had kept the line length right, we might have got wickets. I always say that ‘hard length’ and short of hard length are the best balls, it is difficult for the new batsman on these balls. Our planning was lacking.”
