What will be the future of Mumbai Indians, will Hardik Pandya remain the captain next season? Five-time champion MI is surrounded by similar questions. Especially Hardik Pandya’s captaincy seems to be in danger. Now former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has advised that it is time for Hardik to leave Mumbai Indians. Manjrekar said Jasprit Bumrah should take over the captaincy.
Remove Hardik and…
Sanjay Manjrekar said that he wants to see Jasprit Bumrah as the captain of Mumbai Indians, because Bumrah understands the game very well. Praising Bumrah, Manjrekar said that Bumrah plays with the mind of a batsman, understands the pitch well and knows very well what to do in which situation. According to him, Bumrah may not have got the captaincy of the Indian team, but he at least deserves the captaincy in the IPL.
Ashish Nehra with Hardik
Sanjay Manjrekar further said, “I think you have to think beyond Hardik Pandya. The decision to bring Hardik to Mumbai has not worked so far and it is not fair to Hardik to think like this. It is like a package deal, you should have brought Ashish Nehra along with Hardik. I want Bumrah to be given a chance as captain because this pressure will not be like the pressure that comes with becoming a Test captain.”
Among all the players who have captained Mumbai Indians in 30 or more matches, Hardik Pandya has the lowest win percentage. Under the captaincy of Hardik, Mumbai Indians have played 37 matches so far, out of which they have won only 15 matches.
