Traders also say that if people are being appealed not to buy gold for 1 year, then the government should think about compensating the loss incurred by the traders. Tax should be waived for 1 year, electricity, shop and showroom are everyone’s expenses, what will the traders do about that.
There is a mixed reaction among the common people too. Some people say that they are with the Prime Minister’s appeal but in Indian tradition, gold cannot be avoided, while some people also say that this appeal is wrong and they will definitely buy gold. Gold has to be bought in marriages.

Vivek Banerjee, General Secretary of Delhi Petrol Dealers Association, while talking to ABP News, said that we have to understand that petrol, diesel and gold are exported from outside and we would have needed foreign exchange to buy all this and due to the war in West Asia, there might have been a decrease in foreign exchange, hence PM Modi has appealed to the people to reduce the non-luxury item items, but petrol diesel is an essential item, it is a basic commodity and I do not think that there will be any reduction in our business due to this.
