The IPL 2026 season, which started from March 28, is now moving towards its end. The league stage is about to end and the race for the playoffs remains interesting. The league stage will end on May 24 and the playoff matches will start from May 26 and the final will be played on May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Let us tell you that the top-4 teams of the points table will qualify for the playoffs.
Talking about the format, the top-2 teams will face each other in the first qualifier and the winner of this match will directly enter the finals. An eliminator match will be played between the third and fourth placed teams. The losing team in the eliminator will be out of the tournament and the winning team will play in the second qualifier. In the second qualifier, it will face the team that lost in the first qualifier. After that, the winner of the second qualifier will become the second team to go to the final.
Complete schedule of IPL 2026 playoffs
The playoff matches of IPL 2026 will start from May 26. The first qualifier match will be played on 26 May in Dharamshala. The eliminator match will be played in New Chandigarh on 27th May and the second qualifier match will be played in New Chandigarh on 29th May. The final match is to be held on 31 May in Ahmedabad.

Let us tell you that the final of IPL 2026 was to be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The final match is played at the home ground of the defending champion team. But recently BCCI issued a statement saying that due to logistics and some other reasons, the venue of the final match is being changed from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad. This will be the fourth time in the last 5 years, when the IPL final will be played in Ahmedabad.
