Bollywood’s popular comedy franchise Golmaal is once again in the news and this time the reason is Akshay Kumar. According to reports, his entry in Golmaal 5 is not just a cameo but is being considered a big surprise of the film. It is being said that Rohit Shetty has cast Akshay in the role of a comic villain, who will be seen clashing with Ajay Devgn’s character in the film.
The interesting thing is that Akshay Kumar will be shooting for the least number of days compared to the rest of the lead cast of this film. According to reports, he has given Rohit Shetty a schedule of about 18 to 22 days. But despite having fewer shooting days, his fees remain the most talked about.
If reports are to be believed, Akshay Kumar is being given around ₹35 to ₹40 crore for Golmaal 5. It is even being claimed that his upfront fee is more than Ajay Devgn. Although Ajay Devgn’s exact salary has not been revealed yet, but according to reports, he is also going to participate in the profits of the film.
That means, if Golmaal 5 proves to be a big hit at the box office, then Ajay Devgn’s total earnings can even exceed that of Akshay Kumar. Because the audience recall of the Golmaal franchise is considered very strong, the makers also have high expectations from the film.
Akshay Kumar has been counted among the highest paid actors of Bollywood for a long time. According to reports, he had charged around ₹145 crore for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. However, the film did not perform as per expectations at the box office. Apart from this, his fees for Sky Force and Jolly LLB 3 were also said to be around ₹70 crore.
The interesting thing is that Akshay Kumar had reduced the fees for his recent film Bhoot Bangla. According to reports, he took around ₹50 crore for that film because he himself was its producer and was going to be a part of profit sharing.
At present, the most excitement regarding Golmaal 5 is being seen regarding the comic clash of Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. In reports, it is being described as Tom and Jerry style entertainment. There is discussion that the film can be released in theaters on 31 December 2026.
