A big update has come to light in the case related to the murder of Chandranath Rath, PA of West Bengal Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari. CBI in collaboration with Muzaffarnagar Police of Uttar Pradesh has arrested a person. On Monday (May 18), a joint team of police and CBI arrested shooter Rajkumar Singh, accused of murder. The accused is a resident of Ballia.
The CBI team was working in collaboration with Muzaffarnagar Police. The accused Rajkumar was planning to flee from Haridwar to Delhi, but then a joint team of CBI and UP Police arrested him from Chhapar Toll Plaza on National Highway 58. The real name of the accused is Rajkumar Singh, but everyone knows him as Raj Singh. He is considered to be the most important accused in the murder of Shubhendu Adhikari’s PA.
Four have been arrested so far in the PA murder case
The murder of Shubhendu Adhikari’s PA shook the whole of Bengal. This incident was discussed in the country also. The important thing is that CBI has not yet understood the motive of this murder. A total of 4 people have been arrested so far in the murder case. Accused Rajkumar Singh will be presented in Calcutta court on Tuesday (May 19). Bengal Police had earlier made three arrests in this murder case. All three accused are in CBI custody till May 23. Now CBI has made another arrest.
What did the father of the accused tell?
This is the second arrest of Rajkumar Singh, resident of Rattupur village of Rasra police station area of Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. In this case, the STF team had reached the ancestral house of Rajkumar Singh on Sunday and went back after interrogating the family members. On this matter, the accused’s father Tribhavan Narayan Singh said, ‘Today around quarter to seven, information was received that a CBI officer had called from Muzaffarnagar that Rajkumar Singh has been taken into custody. Was telling by case number 2026. He said that he will present Rajkumar in the court.
Shubhendu’s PA was murdered after the results of Bengal elections.
Chandrakant Rath, an aide of Bengal Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari, was shot dead in Madhyagram on May 6. This incident took place two days after the announcement of the results of the West Bengal Assembly elections. Following the request of the Bengal government, the CBI took over the investigation of Rath’s murder case from the West Bengal Police.
