Mumbai Indians, who are out of the race for the IPL 2026 playoffs, have suffered a double blow. Quinton de Kock and Raj Bawa have been ruled out of IPL 2026 due to injury. De Kock and Raj Bawa will return to their respective homes and start the rehab process. De Kock and Bawa have played only three matches each for Mumbai this season.

De Kock suffered a left wrist injury before the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 29 April. Since then De Kock was not able to come on the field. On the other hand, Raj Bawa had suffered an injury to his right thumb last week. In the statement issued by the Mumbai Indians franchise, it was said that the medical team of MI will provide assistance to both of them to get fit as soon as possible.

In 2026, De Kock returned to the Mumbai Indians team after five years. Unfortunately, due to injury he could play only 3 matches this season. In three matches he had scored 132 runs including a century. On the other hand, Raj Bawa could take only 2 wickets after playing three matches. Bawa is an all-rounder by profession and bowls fast with his right hand. He got to bat only once in IPL 2026, where he could score only 16 runs.

MI out of playoffs

Mumbai Indians are already out of IPL 2026. It has been able to register only four wins after playing 12 matches in IPL 2026. Mumbai is at ninth position in the points table. He has only 2 matches left in the league stage, which he has to play with Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. Both Kolkata and Rajasthan are in the race for the playoffs and Mumbai can spoil their game.
