Bael Fruit Benefits: As soon as the summer season arrives, many people start having stomach related problems. Some suffer from stomach ache, some gas, and some suffer from frequent diarrhea and indigestion. At such times, different types of beverages are available in the markets. Like sugarcane juice, seasonal juice, coconut water etc., all these drinks are considered very beneficial in the summer season, but Ayurveda has mentioned a fruit which is considered the best friend of the stomach, whose name is Bael. According to Swami Ramdev, Bael fruit is considered very dear to Lord Shiva. Apart from being delicious, it is also very beneficial for health. Also, wood apple is considered an effective home remedy for constipation, colitis and many stomach related problems. It is believed that vine keeps the body cool and hydrated from inside and this is the reason why people have been using vine syrup and its pulp in summer since ancient times.

Why is wood apple special in giving relief to stomach?

According to Ayurveda, Bael fruit helps in strengthening digestion. If someone has problems like constipation, gas, acidity or flatulence, then wood apple is considered very beneficial. Swami Ramdev recommends eating Patanjali Bel Candy and Bel Murabba which are full of taste and health. Bael candy is sweet toffee or small pieces made from bael fruit, which are prepared by drying and adding sweetness. It improves digestion and helps in acidity, indigestion and stomach irritation, while Bael Murabba is considered effective in improving digestion and reducing stomach problems.

Also, the special thing is that the raw fruit of wood apple is also used in the treatment of diarrhea and stomach upset. Raw bael can be made into powder and ripe bael is eaten directly like fruit. It has also been said in many researches that such properties are found in the vine which help in keeping the stomach calm and strengthening the intestines. This is the reason that even today in villages, wood apple is consumed as a home remedy for stomach upset.

Vine keeps the body cool from inside in summer

Bael not only takes care of the stomach but also helps in protecting from problems caused by heat. Apart from this, along with Vitamin A, B and C, essential nutrients like iron and potassium are also found in it. They also help in removing weakness from the body, increasing immunity and reducing fatigue. Apart from this, like Bael, cumin, celery and fennel also help in problems like stomach gas, bloating, constipation and IBS.

How to consume Bael?

Bael sherbet is most liked in summer. For this, ripe wood apple pulp is taken out and mixed with water. Then some jaggery or honey is added to it and drunk. Ayurvedic experts say that drinking it in the morning or afternoon is more beneficial. However, excessive consumption should be avoided. If someone already has any serious disease, then it is better to include it in their diet only after consulting the doctor. But it is certain that even today, Bael is considered a reliable local fruit that provides relief to both stomach and body in summer.
