Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been fined 10% of his match fee for violating Level 1 of the code of conduct for IPL players and team officials. Besides, he has also been given one demerit point. In fact, in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday, Hardik had dropped the bails in anger after missing a catch and hitting a four.

BCCI said in its statement that Hardik Pandya was found violating Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. This relates to the misuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a match. Hardik, while going back towards the run-up, hit the wicket bails hard.

Why was Hardik Pandya angry?

In the 10th over of Kolkata Knight Riders’ innings, Hardik became very angry with his team’s fielding. Rovman Powell fired in the air on the second ball of this over, it would have been an easy catch at deep backward square leg, but due to the confusion of Deepak Chahar and Robin Minz, this catch was missed. Although this catch was of Chahar, but he did not try because he thought that Minz would catch this catch. Manish Pandey hit a four on his next ball, on the fourth ball of the same over, Pandey hit another four and after this captain Hardik got angry.
