Shreyas Iyer Statement: What did captain Shreyas Iyer say after losing the T20 series to England? Know who was held responsible

England defeated India by 56 runs in the fifth T20 and won the series 4-0. In the fifth match, England batted first and scored 257 runs, in reply India could score only 201 runs. Once again the Indian bowlers disappointed, which we saw in the entire series. Fielding was also bad, many catches were missed. Captain Shreyas Iyer also cited this as one of the reasons for the defeat, but he also blamed the size and different dimensions of the stadium. Regarding batting, he said that instead of building a partnership, we were trying to chase directly.

Shreyas Iyer said, “I learned a lot from this series against England. Like understanding the conditions and adapting to them. This was the best pitch on which we played. Our approach in batting was different. The conditions kept changing right from the first match. As a professional, we have to understand the conditions and adapt to them.”

The captain further said, “It is important to tell what we could have done better. Fielding is very important and we need to improve it. Especially in foreign countries, where the size and dimensions of the grounds are different. We dropped catches which cost us. Perhaps we could have chased the target of 220-225 runs, but it could not happen.”

Every bowler of India proved to be expensive, Prince Yadav and Akshar Patel gave away runs at an economy of 15. Akshar gave 63 runs in his 4 overs and Prince gave 60 runs. Prasidh Krishna gave 38 runs and Arshdeep Singh gave 33 runs. Suryansh Shedge gave away 39 runs in 3 overs, Shivam Dubey took 2 wickets in a single over but in that over too he gave away 22 runs.
