There is good news for the cricket lovers and cricket players of Bihar. Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal, in a post from his X handle on Friday (May 22, 2026), has advocated the creation of a separate IPL team for Bihar. Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary also took cognizance of his post and clarified his stand.

Samrat Chaudhary wrote in response to Anil Aggarwal’s post, “I completely agree with you. The government is working in “mission” mode with a clear “vision” for the cricket “emotion” of Bihar. With your cooperation, a positive decision will definitely be taken regarding the cricket team of Bihar.”

‘My full support and cooperation is with you’

After Samrat Chaudhary’s reply, Anil Aggarwal again posted it as a reply on X. Said to Samrat Chaudhary, “My full support and cooperation is with you. My heartiest congratulations to all the sports talents of Bihar.”

What has Anil Aggarwal said?

Anil Agarwal writes in his first post, “Don’t you think that Bihar should also have a team incomparable like Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders? The soil of Bihar has given many excellent cricket players to the country.”

He said that Patna-born Ishan Kishan scored an ODI double century in the least number of balls. Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Samastipur became the youngest player to make IPL debut and the eyes of the whole world are on the brilliant bowling of Saqib Hussain, born in an ordinary family of Gopalganj, but one thing always bothers me that why is our Bihar still not getting the name and recognition in cricket that we deserve?

‘The team formed from Bihar will be the best’

Anil Aggarwal said, “It has always been my dream and effort that the youth of Bihar should get full opportunity to progress in every field, our players should also get world class infrastructure and support in Bihar itself. I have full confidence that if our children get the right inspiration and facilities, then the team formed from our Bihar will be the best team in the world.”

He further says that I will give my unconditional support to the Bihar cricket team and its players to take it forward. Bihar is not just a state for me, it is an emotion. Now the time has come that the talent of our soil should be visible on the field.
