In fact, recently the West Bengal government has constituted a 9-member high-level expert committee to review the draft of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) 2026. Whose command has been handed over to retired Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai. Since this news, there has been turmoil among the working class from Delhi to Kolkata.

What are you worried about?
Justice Ranjana Desai is already the chairperson of the 8th Central Pay Commission. In such a situation, some employees are worried that after getting the new responsibility, the work of the Pay Commission may slow down and there may be a delay in receiving its report. However, till now no such statement has come from the Central Government or the 8th Pay Commission, in which it has been said that the work of the Commission will be affected due to the new responsibility. Therefore, at present it is being considered only as an apprehension of the employees.
NPS Employees Union responded
National President of All India NPS Employees Federation, Manjit Singh Patel has shared a post on social media on this issue. In this he wished Justice Desai all the best for his new responsibility. He also raised this question on behalf of the employees whether the 8th Pay Commission report will come on time.
Let us tell you that at present lakhs of central employees and pensioners are waiting for the recommendations of the commission. Everyone’s eyes are on when the commission will present its report and how much increase in salary and pension it will recommend. Presently, continuous meetings of this commission are going on, regarding which there is a lot of hope among the employees.
