While on one hand the Pakistani government has been refusing to provide help to terrorists in its territory, on the other hand many wanted terrorist commanders like Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin and Al-Badr chief Bakht Zameen Khan have been seen attending the funeral of terrorist Hamza Burhan in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad.

Many videos and pictures have surfaced on social media and local media of Pakistan, which confirm that apart from top terrorist commanders, senior terrorist operatives and officers associated with Pakistan’s ISI were also present during the funeral.

Many armed people attend Burhan’s funeral

Hamza Burhan, also known as Arjumand Gulzar Dar and codenamed ‘Doctor’, was buried in Islamabad. He was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and buried a day later.

Videos of the funeral reportedly showed heavily armed men, carrying AK-47 rifles and other modern weapons, deployed around the venue. This shows the tight security arrangements during the burial. The video on social media from that area also shows that many armed people associated with banned terrorist organizations were also involved.

India had declared Burhan a terrorist in 2022

Burhan was declared a terrorist by the Home Ministry of India in the year 2022, because he was involved in many terrorism related activities in Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, Burhan had gone to Pakistan in 2017 on a valid Indian passport and initially tried to get admission in a medical college in Pakistan. Soon he started playing an active role as a terrorist commander and played an important role in radicalizing the youth, recruiting them and providing them money for the Al-Badr operation from Pakistan.

Terrorist Burhan was hiding in Muzaffarabad

In recent years, Burhan was living in hiding while working as a teacher in PoK. Police sources said that he was working as the principal of a private college in Muzaffarabad. Muzaffarabad is about 135 kilometers from Islamabad. According to the local police, Burhan was attacked on the morning of Thursday (May 21, 2026) when he came out of the college campus. Unidentified gunmen opened fire on him from very close range, resulting in multiple bullets hitting his head and resulting in his death.
