At least 26 people died in a major terrorist attack on Sunday (May 24, 2026) morning in Quetta, the capital of Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Apart from this, more than 70 people have been seriously injured in this attack. It is being told that Majeed Brigade of Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has once again carried out a suicide attack by targeting Jafar Express train. To which now Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has reacted. He has termed the attack targeting Jafar Express train as a criminal act and expressed condolences to the people killed and injured in the attack.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif shared a post in this regard on social media platform X on Sunday (May 24, 2026). In which he said, ‘I strongly condemn the bomb blast carried out near Chaman Gate in Quetta, in which many innocent people have tragically died and many people have also been injured.’
He said, ‘Such cowardly acts of terrorism cannot weaken the resolve of the people of Pakistan. We remain steadfast in our resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

The Pakistani PM further said, ‘I express my deepest condolences to the families of all the victims of this attack and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. In this hour of grief, the entire country stands in solidarity with the people of Balochistan.
Pakistani army personnel were traveling in the train
According to the information, Jafar Express train had left from Quetta Cantt carrying Pakistani Army personnel. Meanwhile, a suicide bomber from Majeed Brigade of Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) blew himself up with explosives near the railway track near Chaman Gate. Due to this blast, a bogie of Jafar Express train was completely destroyed and there was chaos everywhere in the surrounding areas.
