US President Donald Trump shared a post on the social media platform Truth Social on Friday (May 29, 2026). In the post, Trump said, ‘Iran must agree that it will never make nuclear weapons or bombs. The Strait of Hormuz should be opened immediately, that too without any fee, so that the movement of ships from both sides can be unhindered.
He said, ‘All sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, if any remain, will be destroyed. We have blasted and removed many such mines with our state-of-the-art underwater mine sweepers. “Iran will immediately remove and/or detonate and destroy the remaining tunnels, which will be very few in number.”
Ships stuck in the strait can prepare to return home – Trump
