Mallikarjun Kharge condemned the attack on Abhishek Banerjee

At the same time, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge has strongly condemned the attack on TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. He wrote in his X post, ‘I strongly condemn the shocking attack on MP Abhishek Banerjee in Sonarpur. He had gone to meet the families affected by the post-poll violence in the state. Not providing adequate police protection to a prominent opposition leader exposes the BJP’s politics of revenge and harassment.

Kharge further said, ‘The Government of West Bengal and the Government of India should ensure the security of all opposition leaders and take immediate steps to stop such attacks. Political differences can never justify any kind of violence.
