HEEL PAIN IS A BIG PROBLEM: Does it also happen to you that as soon as you step down from the bed in the morning, you feel a sharp pain like a needle prick in your heel? Does walking a few steps in the morning become a punishment for you? So do not make the mistake of considering it as minor fatigue or weakness. This can be an early sign of a special disease happening in your body, which is called plantar fasciitis in medical science. Let us understand about this disease and what measures can be taken to avoid it.
Why do heels hurt in the morning?
There is a thick and strong strip of tissue in the sole of our feet from the heel bone to the fingers, which is called plantar fascia. This bandage protects our feet from shock while walking or running.
When there is too much pressure on this bandage, small cuts occur in it and swelling occurs. While sleeping at night, our feet are in a relaxed posture, due to which this tissue shrinks. As soon as you wake up in the morning and take your first step on the ground, this shrunken tissue suddenly gets stretched again and you feel severe pain.
What causes this disease?
- Increased body fat places direct and excessive pressure on the ankles.
- Wearing slippers and shoes that are very thin or without arch support also causes damage to the soles.
- If your work is such that you have to stand continuously for hours, then you may also face this problem.
- Pain in ankles also increases due to increase in uric acid in the body, weakening of bones or deficiency of Vitamin D.

These home remedies can provide relief
- Apply ice to your heels for 15 minutes 2 to 3 times a day, this will reduce swelling.
- Before getting up from bed, stretch your legs and toes back and forth so that the legs do not get pulled suddenly.
- Always wear thick cushioned and comfortable footwear. Avoid walking barefoot even inside the house.
- If this pain persists for several days and there is more difficulty in walking, then immediately consult an orthopedic doctor.
