Papa was fond of alcohol
Recently in AAP court, when Bobby Deol was asked that when your films did not do well, you started drinking a lot. While drunk, he used to say that the world does not support me, no one gives me films. Then Bobby said, ‘When you give up, you go into self-pity. It is normal human nature to feel as if my world is ending. I am so good yet no one likes me. Then addictions arise to sedate you. Papa was fond of alcohol, so much so till today.
wife endured everything
He further said, ‘I was not fond of alcohol, but I started drinking and alcohol is such a thing that if you start drinking first, then later alcohol starts drinking you. Same thing happened with me too. But my wife is my spine and backbone. Only a woman can bear all that a husband is going through. Sometimes my personality changes, sometimes my anger, my irritation… If Tanya was not in my life, perhaps I would not have been able to sit here and talk with you.
Changed myself for the children
He said about his wife, ‘Tanya always stood by me. She took care of my expenses and also took care of the house. She always used to tell me why do you think like this about yourself, but thinking comes inside you only when a voice comes from within you. When my children started asking why Papa keeps sitting at home. Then I suddenly realized what I was doing. Because children grow up watching you. That’s why I started working on myself.

Had the wife left?
After this, when someone from the audience asked Bobby Deol, ‘Bobby ji, you just talked about Tanya that she always stood by you. We had read somewhere that when you were going through bad times, she scolded you a lot and even left you alone. Is there any truth in this?’
Then on this question Bobby Deol laughed and said, ‘I am saying right there that women are very strong. A man builds muscles. But the heart and mind are strong, God has created them like this only. My wife has never left me. Yes, she used to threaten me that if I did not stop drinking, I would leave. She scared me so much that I told her all the time, but she didn’t leave, so I kept drinking.
When will the film be released?
Let us tell you that his upcoming film ‘Bandar’ is going to be released in theaters on June 5, which is directed by Anurag Kashyap. In this film, Sanya Malhotra and Sapna Pabbi will be seen in lead roles along with Bobby Deol. However, this film is going to face tough competition from two films. South actor Ramcharan’s film ‘Peddi’ is releasing on 4th June. Varun Dhawan’s ‘Yeh Jawaani To Ishq Hona Hai’ is coming on June 5, in which Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde will be in lead roles.
