A major accident has taken place on the Delhi-Lucknow highway in Katghar police station area of Moradabad, UP. On Friday night, the bike rammed into the moving container from behind. NIA Deputy SP Ishan Mehra, who was riding a bike, died in the accident. A woman named Poonam from Jaipur who was riding the bike got injured. Both were going from Delhi to Bazpur at the time of the accident.
NIA DSP dies in road accident
The police have admitted the woman to the district hospital. Moradabad SP City Kumar Ran Vijay Singh said that Ishaan Mehra, a resident of Mohali, Punjab, was posted as Deputy SP in NIA in Delhi. Due to office holidays on Saturday and Sunday, Ishaan was going to Bazpur by bike with his friend Poonam on Friday night.

Accident after bike enters container from behind
At around 11.30 pm, his bike was passing in front of Devapur village on Lucknow Delhi Highway in Katghar area. Meanwhile, the bike rammed into the container moving ahead from behind. Ishaan and Poonam were injured in the accident. On information from passers-by, police reached the spot and sent the injured to the district hospital. Doctors declared Ishaan dead. Whereas the woman was admitted and treatment started.
After the accident the relatives of the deceased reached Moradabad
On getting information about the accident, SP City Kumar Ran Vijay Singh also reached the district hospital. When they interrogated the injured woman, they came to know that Ishaan, who lost his life in the accident, was the Deputy SP in NIA in Delhi. On receiving information about the accident, Ishaan’s mother Poonam Mehra and brother Raghav and others reached Moradabad.
The body was handed over to the relatives after post-mortem.
After conducting the post-mortem, the police handed over the body to the family members. After this the family members took the dead body away. SP City Kumar Ran Vijay Singh said that the driver of the container in which the bike had entered from behind had fled from the spot with the vehicle. He is being searched with the help of CCTV camera footage.
