Jewelery worth Rs 25 lakh belonging to Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon’s mother has been stolen. In this case, Juhu Police has arrested 47-year-old Rashi Chhabria for winning the trust of the actress’s mother’s family and stealing jewelery and expensive watches worth about Rs 25 lakh from them.
Accused of breaking the safe and stealing jewelery and expensive watches
According to the information given by the police, the accused woman was in contact with the Tandon family since 2020 and used to frequently visit Raveena Tandon’s house to take care of her mother. She used to cook food and help take care of the actress’s 86-year-old elderly mother. With time, he gradually won the trust of the family. Investigators said the theft took place from the family’s home, where the jewelry was reportedly kept in a locker. The accused woman had stolen jewelery and two expensive watches by breaking the locker.
The incident came to light when the family noticed that jewelery and watches were missing. Subsequently, they interrogated the house help, who, according to police sources, initially denied any involvement in the theft. On questioning again, she returned the expensive watches and said that she had given the jewelery to a person named Jagdish and would return it soon.

The accused woman had threatened
When the family was convinced that the jewelery would not be returned, a complaint was lodged against the accused woman. According to a report in the Indian Express, the accused woman Chhabria had allegedly threatened Rajeev that if pressure was put on him to return the jewellery, she would implicate him in a false narcotics case. The report also said that when the family checked before the Dussehra festival on October 2 last year, they discovered that the jewelery was missing.
House help arrested
However, after an official complaint was registered at Juhu Police Station on May 19, investigation was started. During the investigation, the police arrested the accused house help on May 21 and she was in custody till May 29. Efforts to search and recover the remaining jewelery are ongoing.
