Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajpur was found dead at his flat in Bandra on 14 June 2020. In this matter, the name of Sushant’s girlfriend and actress Rhea Chakraborty came to the fore. Rhea Chakraborty also had to stay in jail for 27 days in Sushant death case. However, he later got bail. This entire matter had a deep impact on his personal and professional life. Now years after Sushant case, Riya’s pain has spilled over.
Rhea Chakraborty remained in jail for 27 days
In an interview given to Variety India, Rhea Chakraborty recalled her difficult experience during the Sushant Singh Rajput case and said that the trauma of that period remains with her even today. Rhea Chakraborty told that the 27 days spent in jail were one of the most difficult times of her life.
He said, ‘The hardest part of being in jail is being in jail itself. You are not part of society. You are just a number. You are not a human being. You are not considered worthy of living in society. You are considered so bad or so pathetic that you are considered harmful to society. That’s why you are separated from everyone else. It really shatters your ego completely. Your self-esteem too. You start questioning many things.

Rhea Chakraborty stopped writing
Riya told that she always kept a diary with her, in which she used to write her thoughts, but after 2020, there was a lot of change in her life and she almost stopped writing. She said, ‘I have not been able to write much since 2020. I think I am afraid of writing, I don’t know what will come out while writing. Trauma doesn’t leave you, you just learn to live with it. If I touch that trauma again, it is only to help someone else. I don’t know if I can trust society’s perspective right now.
Rhea Chakraborty wants to help innocent people
Rhea Chakraborty also told that she saw many women in jail who, despite being innocent, were not able to get legal help because they did not have money. He said, ‘In the last five years, the first thing I have tried to do is put on my oxygen mask. Until I helped myself, I was in no position to help anyone else. But now hopefully I will be able to reach a place where I can raise my voice against the injustice being done in undertrial jails and help those people who cannot afford legal help.
Took a break from social media
Let us tell you that Riya has recently taken a break from social media. She wrote, ‘I have been missing myself for some time now. The constant noise, the scrolling, trying to keep up with everything. This is all starting to feel very heavy. I miss being anywhere where I could exist without being captured. Just being present in that moment. So that’s why I’m taking a little break now.
