Every day new drama is being seen in the politics of West Bengal. A video of a TMC leader regarding the alleged cut-money controversy in Cooch Behar has become a topic of discussion across the country. BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya has shared the video of TMC leader Shahidul Miyan on social media platform X, in which he is seen hiding under his bed to escape the angry mob and then the police takes him out.

Amit Malviya said that as the scope of investigation is increasing and arrests are being made, it is becoming difficult for people who rob the poor to hide. He wrote on X, ‘The cut-money scam in West Bengal is now showing scenes which are no less than a political drama. In Mathabhanga, Cooch Behar, local people surrounded the house of TMC leader Shahidul Miyan. People accused them of extorting Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000 from beneficiaries of government housing schemes.

TMC leader hiding under the bed
He wrote, ‘As soon as people’s anger flared up, the TMC leader tried to hide under his bed to escape the angry mob. Ultimately the police had to rescue him by taking him out of his hiding place. From Kakdweep to Namkhana and now Mathabhanga, the story is the same everywhere: cut-money, corruption and chaos. As the noose of investigation is tightening and arrests are increasing, it is becoming difficult for those who once exploited the poor to hide, now it has become difficult for them even to hide under the bed.
For Mamata Banerjee, who has decided her political journey based on her hold on the political pulse of West Bengal, mass movement and standing firm in the face of every challenge, the time after her crushing defeat in the assembly elections last month has been no less than a political earthquake. Just a month ago, Mamata was the undisputed face of TMC and had a strong legislative power, but the crushing election defeat at the hands of BJP has completely changed the political scenario of Trinamool in Bengal.
