There is news of relief for lakhs of students of CBSE Board. An attempt was made to carry out a major cyber attack on the re-evaluation and verification portal of the board, but the technical team stopped it in time. The special thing is that despite the attack, the services of the portal continued to run normally and thousands of students also applied for checking and revaluation of their answer sheets.
Cyber attack targeting the portal
CBSE has informed that recently a Denial of Service (DoS) cyber attack was carried out on its re-evaluation portal. In this type of attack, too much data is sent simultaneously to a website or server so that the system slows down or stops. It was reported that an attempt was made to influence the portal by sending about 3.8 million data packets. However, the technical team of CBSE was continuously monitoring and immediately implemented security measures and foiled the attack. Due to this the students did not have to face any major problems.
More than 56 thousand students applied
Despite the cyber attack, students’ faith in the portal remained intact. According to the board, till night, more than 56,000 applications had been submitted for verification and re-evaluation. This figure shows that a large number of students want to get their exam results re-checked. Many students are applying to check possible errors in the answer sheets, while some students are demanding recalculation of their marks and re-evaluation of answers.
For which problems can you apply?
CBSE has already provided the students with their scanned answer sheets. After seeing these copies, students can lodge many types of complaints. If any page is missing in any answer sheet, extra sheet is not included, the scanned copy is not clearly visible or the evaluation has been done on the basis of wrong question paper set, then students can complain about it. Apart from this, an application can also be made for re-evaluation of a particular answer.

The board is continuously working on technical improvements.
CBSE says that its technical team is constantly monitoring the portal. In view of the increasing number of applications, the capacity of the system is being increased so that students do not face any kind of technical problem. The board also said that the portal was earlier stopped for some time due to technical upgrade. After this, it was made more secure and faster so that the data of millions of students remains safe and the services continue without interruption.
Help from multiple banks for payment
Keeping in mind the convenience of the students, CBSE has linked the payment gateways of many government banks with its system. These include State Bank of India (SBI), Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank and Indian Bank. Thousands of online payments have been successfully made through these banks. Students can deposit the fee through various means like UPI, debit card, credit card and internet banking. This has made the application process easier and more convenient than before.
