LPG Price Today on June 6: After repeated increases in the prices of commercial cooking gas and compressed natural gas (CNG), concerns are increasing about the prices of LPG, CNG and PNG. At present, domestic LPG prices remain the same.
By how much have the prices been increased?
On June 1, the prices of commercial LPG were changed again. The price of 19 kg cylinder increased by Rs 42 in Delhi and by Rs 53.5 in Kolkata. At the same time, after increasing by Rs 11, the price of 5 kg free trade LPG cylinder in Delhi has now become Rs 821.5. There was no immediate change in prices for domestic customers.
The price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder has remained at the level of Rs 913 since the beginning of March. During that time the prices were increased by Rs 60. These changes have occurred due to fuel availability, rising energy costs globally and pressure on oil companies. The government says it is taking steps to strengthen fuel reserves and manage domestic supplies. The purpose of this increase in installments is to reduce the margin pressure on oil companies without causing a big shock to inflation, although there is still hope of an impact on inflation.

Supply rate also increased
In recent months, the supply rate of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder has increased by almost two-fifths, reaching around Rs 1200 per cylinder. Common consumers are getting this same cylinder for Rs 913. This increase in supply costs is due to a huge increase in the Saudi contract price for propane.
India imports a large part of its LPG requirement, for which Saudi Aramco’s contract price is considered the global benchmark. There was a jump of 38% in April after the supply stoppage through the Strait of Hormuz. According to government sources, despite the rise in global prices, domestic LPG rates in India remain the lowest in the region. The prices of both subsidized and non-subsidized domestic cylinders are lower than similar cooking gas cylinders in neighboring countries, although there is a difference in the size of the cylinders.
