During the 80-90s, Nana Patekar worked in many films. Even today he is seen in some film or the other. He also received a lot of praise in his recent release ‘Sankalp’. In such a situation, actress Madhu, who debuted with Ajay Devgan’s film ‘Foot Aur Kaante’, shared her years-old experience of working with Nana and told an incident when the actor had slapped her hard.
Actually, Madhu had worked with Nana Patekar in the film ‘Yashwant’ in the year 1997. In this she was seen in the role of his wife. The film was directed by Anil Matto. In such a situation, Madhu shared an incident about a scene in the same film, in which the actor had to slap her.

Nana Patekar slapped me hard – Madhu
While talking to Hindi Rush, Madhu told about the incident related to that scene of the film and said, ‘I became a method actor with Nana Patekar. There was a scene in the film in which I had to use glycerine and he (Nana Patekar) did not allow me to use it. He was like that to feel. There should be natural tears in the eyes. But I could not do this. Then what he did was that he really slapped me and hit me very hard. After this I actually had tears in my eyes.

Madhu further says, ‘I was very angry at him because we had rehearsed and he had not done anything like that. His sudden slap had startled me. I am so angry that I even slapped him. When he hit me, I had to hit him back in reaction.

Nana Patekar misbehaved with Madhu?
Madhu says, ‘The film’s director Anil had taken a whole day to film this scene in Yashwant but we completed everything in half a day. I became a method actor by living with my maternal grandfather.
Along with this, in the same conversation, Madhu was also asked about the behavior of Nana Patekar and she said, ‘Nana Patekar never misbehaved with me. He showed displeasure only when he wanted me to improve my acting. When I used glycerine and came out of character after the shot, he would get angry. I was an actress who could get into acting immediately but my grandfather was against it. He believed that the character you are playing should be played by living it.

However, if we talk about Madhu Shah’s work front, she made her debut with Ajay Devgan’s film ‘Phool Aur Kaante’ and shone in the industry overnight. The actress has also worked in films of other South languages including Hindi. But after doing about 80 films, she went away from the screen. However, the actress made a comeback in the year 2023. She was seen in Samantha’s film ‘Shankutalam’. But before this she had worked in Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Thalaivi’ (2021). Currently, she is in the news for Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Governor’.
